An Emirati man has set a new world record for BASE jumping after parachuting from the top of the Burj Khalifa. The developer of the Burj Khalifa confirmed that they permitted the man to jump off the tower, which had a grand ceremony on Monday.
Nasr Al Niyadi and his skydiving trainer Omar Al Hegelan made a perfect landing after jumping from the 160th floor of the world's tallest building on Tuesday afternoon.

Dubai Media City (DMC), yesterday announced its support of 23-year old Jalal Majid Bin Thaneya's initiative to cross 550km of the Empty Quarter by foot in 20 days to raise awareness of children with physical and cognitive disabilities.

UAE tops Arab World in ranking for prosperity Posted on 27/10/2009
The UAE maintained its position as the most prosperous country in the Arab World and the only nation in the Middle East and North Africa region to be ranked in the top 50 for the second year running, according to a global survey of wealth and happiness released yesterday.
